The Elanex Quality Framework
Elanex takes a systematic approach to translation quality - providing
the highest quality work is a key focus of our business philosophy.
We have several systems for managing and ensuring quality, which together make up
the Elanex Quality Framework:
- Practitioner selection - Elanex uses only native translators for translation,
and selects only a fraction of the translators who apply to us based on stringent resume review and evaluation
- Practitioner evaluation - all practitioners in our team
are thoroughly tested and measured both prior to working with Elanex on live projects and on a
continuous basis in the course of working with us in order to
identify their abilities in the specialist areas we cover. Every piece of work a
practitioner completes for Elanex is assigned a score based on
the quality of work. These scores accumulate and factor into our selection process for every job
- Editing - all Elanex translations are fully edited (not just proofread) by
one of our certified editors
- Automated review - a key feature of our technology
is the ability to automate certain quality checks, such as missing translations, incorrect numbers, and other
items. Automated review is a step in our standard project workflow
- Quality review - in the unlikely event that a client
identifies any concerns with the output, Elanex will conduct an 'independent' internal
investigation, managed by someone not part of the original project team
- ISO 9001:2000 - Elanex is currently in the process of obtaining
ISO 9001:2000 certification
All evaluations and completed translations are assigned quantitative scores by our
certified editors.
Our quantitative scoring system ranks different types of 'error' (actual semantic errors and clear
'mistakes', stylistic errors determined by the context or by specific client requirements, or issues
of 'personal preference'). Our scoring system enables us to take the ambiguity and mystery out of translation
quality, and provides consistency of quality measurement throughout our network.
